A Christmas Carol!

Is out today.

'Charles Dickens' timeless tale of an old miser who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as they help to bring kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he does not strive to be a better man.'

Silk Cashmere Hoodie!

Sweatshirts & Toddler Clothing. Those are two fashion loves of Stella McCartney's apparently. The silk cashmere hoodie is only $88. It's made for kids but that has never stopped me in the past!

This ridiculously comfortable sweatshirt can be used to go underneath everything from your favorite smart jacket to your coat.

Grey Gardens Glasses

'To say Grey Gardens is a brilliant film is quite an understatement, and not at all uncommon in the fashion industry. Many many folks are a fan of the entire body of work of filmmaker Albert Maysles. Really it’s all just genius.

However, until now I’d never thought much about his eyewear. The people over at Barneys, however, have been thinking about it a lot. In keeping with the retro glasses trend, they partnered with LA-based Barton Perreira to recreate Maysles’ classic look.

Barneys’ EVP of Women’s Merchandising Judy Collinson says, “We saw everyone wearing glasses that looked like Albert Maysles glasses. Instead of looking for the best glasses inspired by him, we thought why no have the real authentic Albert Maysles glasses. He is such an iconic, respected and beloved figure. (Plus he looks amazing in the glasses.)

A pair of readers will sell for $350 and sunglasses for $365 with $25 from each sale going to the Maysles Institute. Apparently Maysles was totally into the idea and there will even be a red pair for spring inspired by the color of the sail on one of his toy boats.'

While fairly random, I like the whole idea. Little Edie would definitely approve.

Shakira !!!

SHE 'DID IT AGAIN' !
Shakira has just released her new video for the new tune 'Did it again'. Melodically the song takes an experimental approach to it. Strangely seductive, influences that seem to pull from all over the globe as the Colombian singer purrs and moans and you can clearly tell how much fun Shakira had recording this new album based on the first two singles alone. I have no idea how this album will be sold to the American public, if it even will, but it’s certainly worth my time.

Look, the tune is astounding. She’s keeping things interesting. And those are two key ingredients you should have as an artist, and what I respect...

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2010

'No one really talked about it, but it's so amazing. The pointy collar shapes. The cropped constructed jackets. The crispy textures. The ridiculous prints in endless repetition. A perfect little bit too much from everything.' -Horst

Have a very merry happy birthday Miss Tilda!

Thee extraordinary & brilliant actresa that is
Tilda Swinton turns 49 today!

Here's the lastest project of Tilda's that i've seen as of late...

'JULIA'
I have been an admirer of Tilda Swinton, since I first saw her.
Stepping into the world of Cinema, Tilda is possibly one of thee most brilliant actresses of this generation(along with Penelope Cruz,Kate Winslet & Cate Blanchett)

Not only can she take on some roles in what could be considered "difficult" films, but she can fake an American accent quite well. Erick Zonka directs Tilda's character about a self destructive 40 something, full blown alcoholic party girl, named Julia who's party girl days should have been behind her years ago. When she is ordered to attend an AA meeting by one of her best friends , she meets up with a psychologically disturbed woman named Elena, who wants Julia to kidnap her eight year old son from her Grandfather.

Julia with nothing to lose, eventually goes along for the ride. A kidnapping goen wrong, that goes from bad to worse to truly unbearable(and I do mean this quite literally). Thrown in a unintended trip to Mexico, watch as the film goes from perplex to down-right unbelievable!

Rent! it's out now!
File Under: Must watch for all you cinephiliacs

File Under: What the Mahjiggers?!!?

Remember the lady who taught us how to give our kitty cats a rub down? Well she is back and this time around she's brought a dog named Henry Wrinkler! Yes, she's teaching us how to massage our dogs now.

Kitties & Lipstick, Gaga’s Favorite Things

'Lady Gaga may talk about starting a clothing line and she may pop up in front rows, but now she’s landing real fashion work (or as real as can be expected from Gaga).'

'Yesterday, the Daily Mail leaked photos of her Hello Kitty campaign. The pop star wears stuffed kittens and tons of glitter in honor of the Japanese brand’s 35th Anniversary. The images will also cover special editions of her album (which’ll be sold with locks of her hair).

And now she, with Cyndi Lauper, will front the new MAC Viva Glam campaign.

The annual project sends 100% of the profits from MAC’s $14 Viva Glam lipstick to their AIDS Fund (which has raised over $150 million since its inception in 1994). This year’s campaign launches on February 25 and the lipstick goes on sale March 18t'

Little Red

Tune: It's Alright

I've had this tune playing non-stop on shuffle for the last month.
It always makes me feel rather lovey & warm inside.

Indulge.

It's A Beautiful Day

Kidda's over at V magazine give their interpretations of what the definition of beauty will be in the next decade: Gucci Westman, Aaron de Mey, Didier Malige, James Kaliardos, Val Garland, Richard Burbridge, Miles Aldridge, Jimmy Paul, Julien d’Ys, Mario Sorrenti. The list stretches miles long and their work is completely thrilling!

Miss Portman Speaks

Natalie Portman is saucy and androgynous in the winter issue of V Magazine, on newsstands today.

'The 28-year-old actress, who posed for Mario Testino in London for the shoot, wore Calvin Klein jeans and embellishments on the cover and opened up about sexuality, the internet and ambition:'

On harsh criticism of her Star Wars work: “My acting was not exactly respected in those films [laughs] but those are the moments when you want to prove yourself again. When people think I suck, it helps.”

On how the internet affects her roles: “[O]nline bulls— interferes with what I want to do artistically. I’m not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I’m very opposed to pornography sites and you’re pretty much giving them material if you do any of that.”

On striving to be her best: “To be successful, you need the desire to be successful. Ambition can be a dirty word, but it’s pretty much more important than anything.”

'There is one moment in history that exceeds the whole decade of the 90s: the year 2000. It combines everything beloved and detested: Leopard print, snakeskin, cropped, bootcut. Everything collapses and fades into the bright unification of all fashion sins.' -Horst

Solange Has Left Her Record Label

Solange announced the news on her Twitter:

"Although it’s been a wonderful journey & experience at Interscope Records, after truly recognizing what’s important to ME as an artist, I decided it was time for me to continue my path on a more independent platform. I’m excited about continuing to dive in, experiment and creating music and art with no boundaries, fears or expectations. Gonna be fun folks.”

It's always thrilling to hear when an artist takes complete control of their musique career in search for other platforms that'll allow them to creatively unleash every inhibtion!

File Under: It's Bai Ling!

About a year ago, one of Bai Ling's ex-boyfriends gave her a $30,000 cheetah-cat as a gift. Bai named him Quiji (pronounced chee-jee). According to Bai, Quiji's dad is a cheetah and her mother is a regular ol' domestic cat.

Bai has said that Quiji is her soulmate, because she firmly believes she was a wild cat in her past life, "In my previous life, I was a cheetah or leopard or some sort of really wild and dangerous animal in nature. But the thing is, Quiji is really the most affectionate, even compared to human beings." A little too affectionate, because she tried to eat one of Bai's nipples! Bai explained, "I sleep naked ... She was kissing me, and suddenly, she woke up. She saw my nipple, and oh my God, she went for it. If I wasn't fast, my nipple is gone. She thought it was a toy or something."

And there you have it kiddas...if you didn't already know than now you know! Keep all predators outside the bedroom(when sleeping naked of course ;)
