Holiday Salutations from Itsnotyouitsme!

The year end is almost upon us and itsnotyoutitsme.org would like to wish you a splendid Holiday where ever you are in this topsy turvy world.

With that, I welcome you Kiddas, to my kind of Christmas. From me to you. The only way I know how through musique, my salvation, and artistically through my visual likings. The legion of dedicated followers that has multiplied through the year, finds yours truly sitting and conjuring up big and innovative things for the incoming year! I just want to say quickly, thank you to everyone for your constant excitement about whats happening here on a round about basis. And to those of you who hate me, and still come see about me, thank you too. I'd be a real loser if everyone liked me.

'Instead of being a time of unusual behavior, Christmas is perhaps the only time in the year when people can obey their natural impulses and express their true sentiments without feeling self-conscious and, perhaps, foolish. Christmas, in short, is about the only chance a man has to be himself.'

Alicia Keys First Recorded Song Ever 'Little Drummer Girl'

R&B/Soul legend Alicia Keys hit her official blog to share with us the first ever song she recorded for release. In time for the holiday season Alicia is soulfully Christmas on her cover of 'Little Drummer Boy'.

This was the absolute FIRST song I ever recorded that was going to be released in some way. I can't even remember exactly when it was? Maybe 1996?

If u can imagine young AK in Tims and jeans walking down those mean and dirty New York streets diddy-boppin to the Reasonable Doubt album or maybe Ray's Purple Tape. I was so excited about picking a Christmas song to record for an album called "The 12 Soulful Nights of Christmas" that JD and my then label, Columbia Records were putting together.

I remember sitting at my piano, vibing on the freshest way I could play one of my favorite songs "Little Drummer Boy" which of course had to be renamed "The Little Drummer Girl" ;-)

I was in my one bedroom apartment at the piano in the corner of the living room, just steps away from my "bedroom" and I played these jazzy style chords since I was starting to really get into jazz structures. Anyway I stayed up late into the night to come up with the ultimate "Flip."

Then I went into the Studio with Rodney Jerkins and we produced the record together. I knew I wanted those Al Green style drums bangin behind it. In fact, I knew exactly what I wanted, and that was the beginning of me learning to become a producer.

I have the best memory of this song. It was one of my "firsts" and now as I approach another First - experiencing the first Christmas with our Son. I feel like it's only right to share this song with you.

Freshly remastered and ready for your holiday spirit: Little Drummer Girl! Sending you massive love and blessings during this time right into the most spectacular New Year you've ever known! With love and gratitude,
Alicia

Because We Have One In Every Friend And/Or Family: Sleek and Stylish Tech Accessories

As the headliner reads, we all know someone in our inner-circle who must always carry the latest trend in technology with them. On a personal level, I find it hard just to keep my phone in my possession, let alone would I be able to keep in tact a pretty chic accessory without misplacing it. But alas, for all you fancy tech freaks(i mean that nicely) the gods have delievered.

If you have an iPad, well, its that time of season for "those who appreciate great form in their high-function gadgets will get what they’ve wished for."

I get it, iPads allow a perfectly color high-definition screen for your viewing pleasure. It has multiple apps, and now because of that many collections that appeared on the runway were inspired by clean and bold lines. Graphic colors were popping which go nicely with the iPad's accessories. You can dress it up with the help of Stella McCartney, Dooney & Bourke, L.V, Chanel and Oscar de la Renta. Many other designers offer covers that intertwine with their current thread collections.

Above is Stella's design which is simple black faux-leather cover with metal edging. And of course not all fashion related technology is connected to the iPad. From the likes of photographer Nick Knihgt to the late-great Alexander McQueen, lets all give a rousing applause to our personal computers which we all have. And if we didn't have this connection, than we wouldn't have each other kiddas.

Michelle Williams’s Emotional Nightline Interview

It's been three years since Heath Ledger’s tragic death, and it's only now that a Michelle Williams is opening up to Nightline about how she's dealt with the loss.

On Heath’s passing...“In a strange way, I miss that year, because all those possibilities that existed then are gone. It didn’t seem unlikely to me that he could walk through a door or could appear behind a bush. It was a year of very magical thinking, and in some ways I’m sad to be moving further and further away from it.”

On handling the news...“I found meanings around the circumstances but the actual event itself I can’t find a, I can’t find it. I can’t find a meaning for it. I can find meanings in things and people and relationships that have sprung up and friendships that have strengthened. I found a lot of meaning in that but not in ‘why.’”

On giving their daughter Matilda a normal childhood...“It’s going well. We’re doing a good job of it. It is of more importance to me than anything in my life. I would rearrange anything to make that possible. If something starts to encroach on that it’s going to be removed from the equation.”

Dig Michelle’s entire interview below. Which also happens to showcase a special co-star of hers.

And in case you've missed the multiple reminders and advertisement seen here exclusively on itsnotyou, featured on your right, Michelle Williams and Ryan Goslings new film will finally open this weekend in theaters. I'll be their, pop-corn tub in hand and with my heart on my sleeve.

"You always hurt the one you love,

The one you shouldn't hurt at all.

You always take the sweetest rose

And crush it till the petals fall.

You always break the kindest heart

With a hasty word you can't recall.

So If I broke your heart last night,

It's because I love you most of all."
