Kate Moss: Sex, Drugs And Marky Mark

I don’t want to be myself, ever. I’m terrible at a snapshot. Terrible. I blink all the time. I’ve got facial Tourette’s. Unless I’m working and in that zone, I’m not very good at pictures, really.

Kate Moss is honest and upfront on the latest issue if Vogue magazine speaking from everything from drugs to Marky Mark and might we add looking amazing on the cover or the fashion zine.

On the infamous Calvin Klien shoot.

I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18, when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts,” she says. “It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die. I went to the doctor, and he said, ‘I’ll give you some Valium,’ and Francesca Sorrenti, thank God, said, ‘You’re not taking that.’ It was just anxiety. Nobody takes care of you mentally. There’s a massive pressure to do what you have to do. I was really little, and I was going to work with Steven Meisel. It was just really weird—a stretch limo coming to pick you up from work. I didn’t like it. But it was work, and I had to do it.”

Bette Midler, Debbie Harry, Michael Kor's Care For NYC

Actress Bette Midler and her famous celebrity friends such as Blondie's Debbie Harry and Designer Michael Kor's gathered this week even after super storm Sandy to raise money to rehabilitate New York City's green areas.

In 1995, New York City experienced a revolution that would change its landscape – quite literally – forever… and for the better. Returning to the city that helped launch her celebrated career, famed entertainer Bette Midler found many of its streets, neighborhoods and parks consumed by a sea of litter and years of neglect.

"I was so upset; I didn't sleep for weeks... People were throwing their garbage out the window, leaving their lunches on the ground. Finally, I realized I needed to actually do something – even if it meant picking up trash with my own two hands." Bette Midler, from an interview with Good Housekeeping Magazine

And, that she did. A figurative force of nature in the entertainment world, The Divine Miss M also proved to be a literal force of nature in protecting and preserving New York City’s public spaces and parks. Initially recruiting friends and family, Bette set about removing garbage from Fort Tryon Park and Fort Washington Park in Upper Manhattan. What began as a grass roots effort led to her founding the non-profit New York Restoration Project (NYRP).

Watch below as NYC's golden hands speak about their efforts.
