Marc Jacobs Takes His Shirt Off for Diet Coke

Marc Jacobs is Diet Coke's new Creative Director for 2013 and he's taking it all off for the campaign!

Marc Jacobs follows Jean Paul Gaultier, and before that, Karl Lagerfeld, as the new creative director and face (and abs) of Diet Coke for 2013.

The fashion industry’s favorite soft drink is celebrating its 30 year anniversary in Europe, so it brought out the big guns. Jacobs designed three cans, three bottles and created three ad campaigns. The designs correspond to the fashion of the ’80s, ’90s, and the aughts. He described the packaging to WWD as “whimsical and feminine.”

As for the campaign, in which he stars, shirtless, he said, “I think glamour and sex sells just about everything.” Examples of that philosophy can definitely be found in Jacobs’s own advertising.

And, judging by the amazingly ridiculous video, which you can watch below, humor helps too.

“I still think it’s hysterical people want me to take my shirt off,” Jacobs told the trade. “You know, I’m going to be 50 in two months, so I guess I should be glad… It feels like the decade of me taking my shirt off.”

That’s about right–following his total image overhaul from scruffy, slumpy, bespectacled Marc to jacked up, tattooed Marc, shirtless photo shoots and knee-length skirts have become the designer’s trademarks.

The bottles and full ad campaigns have yet to be revealed but for now, watch a group of girls get all hot and bothered over Marc Jacobs taking shirtless selfies in a photobooth. I mean, we’d be pretty excited, too. -fashionista.com

Pink Gives You Reasons To Love

P!nk lands the cover of Redbook magazine to give us some more honest , and open insights on her life which is always a little too much information but you know its always realness for the 33 year old mother, wife and pop star.

On what makes her feel beautiful: “Well, I was always considered butch. Feeling beautiful to me is when I feel good in my leather pants and my husband grabs my as*. Or when I’m sitting on a mat and my daughter runs to me with complete joy. Beautiful has never been my goal. Joy is my goal—to feel healthy and strong and powerful and useful and engaged and intelligent and in love. It’s about joy. And there’s such joy now.”

On reconciling with husband Carey Hart in 2008: “Eleven months after we broke up, he asked me to fly to Las Vegas to perform on New Year’s Eve at his club. I wanted to see him. And I looked hot. There’s something about breaking up with someone—you just look hotter than you ever did before. I will never look as good as I did those six months after we broke up. Never! [Laughs] Anyway, after sound check I told him that he needed to come to my room. I had made him a photo album of all the cards he had ever given me, of all the photos of our entire relationship. I spent months on this album. On the last page, I pasted a photo of me from a really bad movie I made years ago with my neck slit and blood everywhere. Next to it I wrote, ‘This is me without you.’ On the next page, there was a picture of a baby. And I wrote: ‘The rest is unwritten’ The divorce papers that we never signed were behind that page. I was like, ‘The rest is up to you.’ And I did all of this in his favorite bra and panties.”

On her daughter Willow: “That first night in the hospital, she was having a complete meltdown, and Carey was out of it. But this nurse came in and she helped me through the whole thing. We sat up and talked all night with my baby in my arms, and it was like my whole life made sense, for the first time, ever.”
