Lovefest: Kate & Katie

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at a Shoot for LOVE with Fashion’s Great Influencers Ms. Moss and Ms. Grand

Kicking off NOWNESS’ Valentine’s week celebration of all things romance, LOVE Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand casts a beguiling Kate Moss as a Pre-Raphaelite muse. Shot by the venerable Tim Walker and showcased here in an exclusive expanded edit, the belle époque scene’s floral accessories dominate the supermodel’s otherwise minimal wardrobe. Accompanied by handwritten passages from Angela Carter’s 1967 coming-of-age novel The Magic Toyshop, the result adds a blush of decadence to the current issue of Grand’s London-based brainchild.

Video Premiere Rihanna - Stay

From Rihanna's seventh studio album Unapologetic here is the premiere of "Stay" featuring Mikky Ekko. The Sophie Muller directed video is raw and emotional and best described by Rihanna -

"The video was really, really simple. I pretty much stayed put in a bathtub, and we shot it really tight, really close. There's Mikky Ekko in the video as well. This is the first time I've ever collaborated with him, so I'm excited about that because he's actually the one who wrote the song and I kinda just fell in love with it so much and in love with the tone of his voice and we wanna keep him a part of it, so you'll see him in the video." The singer added, "It's a very emotional song and it's personal, so you just think about, it's almost like telling a story, and when you tell a story, even to yourself — if you're saying it out loud and expressing how you feel — it needs to be powerful because it needs to be authentic."

Beyonce Covers March' Vogue

Beyonce poses for the cover of Vogue‘s March 2013 issue, on newsstands February 19 where she shares personal thoughts on her new life with her family.

On giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy: “I felt very maternal around eight months. And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”

On her new family life: “I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more. Family has always been important. I’ve always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it’s just… Life is so much more than… It’s not defined by any of this.”

On splitting with her father as her business manager: “My soul has been tarnished… My father taught me so much about being a businesswoman. And I’m understanding him a lot now… A lot of the crazy things he did were necessary.”

Gwyneth Paltrow on her gal pal: “When she is working onstage, she has more power than any woman I’ve ever seen. She would never say it and has never said it, but I feel she knows with every fiber of her being that she is the best in the world at her job.”

Breakaway By Bruce Conner Ft. Antonia Christina Basilotta (Toni Basil)

Before you ever shouted out "...Mickey Your So Fine" American singer-songwriter, actress, filmmaker, film director, choreographer, and dancer Antonia Christina Basilotta or as we know her, Toni Basil was just another art student/muse seen below in a 1966 groovy and stylized art piece by American artist Bruce Conner.

The five-minute Breakaway shows Antonia Christina Basilotta (Toni Basil) shimmy, tease, gyrate, and luxuriate in various states of undress. The music, Ed Cobb’s “Breakaway”, the B-side of Basilotta’s first single, is a throaty pop-tune with low-brow mid-’60s “lib” lyrics (“I’m gonna break away from all the chains that bind, and everyday I’ll wear what I want and do what suits me fine”), a cross between Nancy Sinatra and Martha and the Vandellas. The song lasts two minutes and 30 seconds, after which the entire short, picture and soundtrack, runs backwards to the beginning. -via sensesofcinema.com
