This years MTV video music awards should have added Taylor Swifts name as an official feature to its title because homegurl was making cameos left and right. From world premiering her beautifully shot new music video "Wildest Dreams" with one of our favorite directors at the helm, Joseph Kahn (who appeared live on the telecast), Taylor went on to open the show as a surprise performer alongside headliner Nicki Minaj. She finished the evening scooping up, winning pretty much every award she was nomiated for and closed the show by delivering the video vanguard award to Kanye West. Lets not even go there. If you saw the show, then you know.
The Biebs got his hair did and gurl did a homerun. We are crushing on his new do. We do approve. As for his performance, all we can say is, eh. Tori Kelly and The Weekend appeared singing there current singles "Shouldve Been Us" and "Can't Feel My Face" and those were quite saucy. Nick Jonas truly took it to another level with his new single appropriately titled, "Levels. Althouhg we feel his performance should have taken center stage on the main telecast itself and not the pre-show. Nicki Minaj used fighting words aimed directly at "Im just being Miley". So dont expect any joint passing between these two anytime before 420. Britney Spears presented Best Male Video to winners Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, and from head to toe Brit was beautifully groovylicious looking.
Finally Pharrell closed the show with his song " Freedom" and as always Skateboard delivered an impeccably choreographed, chic-sartorial driven performance. Here ye, here ye, here's to another year of honoring musique at MTV video music awards. Life without music is a mistake.
