A$AP Ferg & Elle Fanning Cover “Moon River” For for Tiffany & Co.

Another beautiful day on planet earth, another beautiful cover of a classic.  “Moon River” It's a soundtrack jam that never entirely goes vanishes if you know what we mean. Composer Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer wrote the iconic ditty for the equally classic 1960's film "Breakfast At Tiffany’s starring thee inimitable genius Audrey Hepburn.

Sure this tune has been sampled several times by the likes of Andy Williams, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Morrissey, R.E.M., and now most recently by thee enchanting Elle Fanning & rapper A$AP Ferg.

Although it may seem at first encounter a very unlikely hook-up sometimes that's how authentic magic is manifested. Both the Harlem rapper and brilliant actress start the track like the original where A Hepburn sang in the film strumming her emotions, fluttering and hovering over an NYC backdrop.

Fanning impeccably swoons just the same along a stellar sounding acoustic guitar. However in order to stay true to reinvention, sonically the drums boom in sending the once mid-tempo ballad into a deep hip-hop beat. How this astounding collabo came to fruition you ask? Well, the dynamic duo got together to record the song for a new ad for thee iconic jewelry brand Tiffany & Co.

Watch and/or listen below, as thee ad starts out referencing the film, with Fanning sipping coffee and window shopping outside the store. The scene transforms into bright color palettes and a dance routine.

In a press release, A$AP Ferg had the following to spill about thee entire project:

"I come from Harlem, which is a long way from the famous Tiffany flagship on Fifth Avenue. But because I went to the High School of Art and Design in Midtown, I’d have to walk past the Tiffany store every single day on my way home. It was just years and years of me walking past Tiffany, never dreaming one day my face, my voice, and my lyrics would be part of their story. That’s a real dream, in real life."

Dig it out all you moon rivers right below...
