Interpol's "The Rover"!

Back in June, we shared with you honey rockers that Interpol was currently holding a press conference at Mexico City’s decaying mansion turned art gallery named "General Prim 30". To announce the release of their nuevo album entitled Marauder. It was said to be more like a performance art rather than a press conference.

Stylized and semi-scripted. They used a mural revealing the album art and release date. And most vitally we specified how the whole event was set to be used and turned into a future musique video...
Well always staying true to our previous posts, our follow-up is your command.

The nuevo documentary-style video uses the actor from The Punisher star Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the main character, showing him navigating through the cultural city, stopping at witchcraft markets and taking in the sights of the city.

Moss-Bachrach's character interrupts an Interpol (hence the previous post) press conference to announce their new album, which actually occurred in real life at the album announcement in Mexico. At the time, fans speculated as to why exactly the actor suddenly appeared mid-press conference without warning, and now it's become apparent that it was a stunt for the video.

To us, Paul's voice sounds the same even after all these years. In the early 2000's there was an infamous underground musical explosion that only those lucky ones that experienced it and lived with it, we call "Indie Club kids 2.0". Leading the pack are now new legends The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Faint, The Rapture, and thee most important artist in this list, Interpol.

The first cut from Interpol's upcoming album Marauder we can now say has a corresponding video.
“The Rover,” is a bouncy mixed with rock n roll and a sleek punk angst. Although we have to always say it like we mean it, the tune at a certain point gets repetitive after a few repeats and re-spins on the shuffleboard but nonetheless, it's a void that'll be hopefully filled once the rest of the album is out.

Marauder is Interpol's first album since 2014 and is set to be unleashed on August 24th!

Dig out the video below all you honey rockers:
