"Jón Þór Birgisson, aka Jónsi, is the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós (Icelandic for 'Victory Rose'). He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice. Last December, Jónsi's official website [here] was launched in anticipation of his upcoming début solo album, simply titled "Go" that'll be released on April 5th, 2010. Last month, Birgisson had announced that Sigur Rós was on "an indefinite hiatus", as the band had scrapped plans for a new album previously announced to be released in 2010, saying that "they were just rumors". The band has decided to take the year off, as several members of Sigur Rós recently had children, and as Jónsi's solo career has been developing." Morphosis

"Spanish designer Diego David Domínguez González, aka David Delfín, presented this season's collection in New York. His second showing in the Big Apple in actuality, even though he's marked ten years in the business. In a mood to celebrate, Delfín set himself an unusual challenge : no black.

The models would step onto the runway through a wall of fringe, clad only in turquoise, green, navy, and white -a palette inspired by the Polychromie of Le Corbusier. According to the program, the collection had a "Reality gets confused" theme. With the state of the economy and such, it is hard to know how designers are going to react. David Delfín put a simple, graphic and overall exciting collection together. A sigh of relief !

The looks are androgynous, the colors simple and bold, and the ensembles have interesting tailoring details. Androgyny is central to the Davidelfin aesthetics, as are one-sleeved looks. While the latter, as of today, seemed a bit last-season. Delfin might have veered rather radically between the tacky and the tasteful, but he has a strong point of view, and that's worth its weight in Smurfs !" Via Morphosis

John Rocha

"John Rocha shows are always an intriguing cross-fertilisation of cultures. The Hong Kong-born designer has been resident in Dublin for many, many years (his label is already 25), and draws inspiration from Celtic art and craft. But there is always just a hint of the Orient mixed in, as delicately as a hint of coriander in a won-ton soup.

For this season's collection, his references came from Carrickmacross in Ireland, a renowned center for traditional lace-making, and the Irish-American abstract painter, Sean Scully. Rocha mixed textures and shapes haphazardly but layered up shades on shades of bone-white, black or tan in sharp tailoring.

The flower-covered fedoras make me think that Rocha derived some inspiration from womens hats. The choice to mix flowers and fedoras is a curious one, but this inherent femininity is tamed somewhat by the oversized peacoats that many of the models wore." Morphisis

Sean Penn is Really Into The Wild!

"Sean Penn is currently in Haiti, attempting to help in the relief effort. A couple days ago, he went above and beyond the call of duty and saved the lives of a woman and orphaned baby who had been terribly injured from the rubble of a collapse building.

Sean and his daughter Dylan drove an hour- and-a-half to rescue the woman and child, trapped in rubble outside Port-au-Prince, probably from an aftershock. Penn was able to removed them from the area, and drive them back to the University of Miami hospital camp in Port-au-Prince. Both woman and child had severe injuries and Sean did not leave until he knew they were adequately treated. From there, he took the pair back to his place and has agreed to let them stay there for as long as it takes to find them a safe place to go." Via CNN

What an act of bravery...Hooray! Hooray! On your part Mister Penn.

French Anti-Smoking Ads Simulate Forced BJs

'France’s Association De Défence Contre Le Tabac and Les Droits des Non-Fumeurs collaborated with ad agency BDDP & Fils on this striking campaign. The ads suggest that smoking is being a slave to tobacco by showing young guys and girls kneeling down in a simulated forced oral sex scenario with the cigarette assuming the role of the penis. I personally think the art direction is a bit extreme.'Homotography

Here's singer Fergie at one of The Black Eyed Peas concerts. It appears that although I may not be a fan of the groups live musique, seems that the Grandma(in turquoise) would heavily disagree with me!

Now is it the tunes or is it Fergie's space age prostitute outfit brainwashing these abuelita's?

Now this Fergie, I don't mind at all :]

Here are shots from the lookbook of Lee (Alexander) McQueen's final collection for McQ, which screams London in a delightful punk/skin/f*ck you way.

Would You Ladies Get Vajazzled

Over at 'The Luxury Spot' they wrote a post on Vajazzling, a relatively new concept in vaginal adornment. It’s exactly what it sounds like, bedazzling for your vajayja haha.

When the lovely team at Spa Week Daily called Bryce(Luxury spot)up and said “Bryce, we know you’re at the forefront of Vajazzling… you’re basically the authority on the subject, any chance we can send you down to Completely Bare Spa in NYC to actually get it done?”

Would she? Obviously. She goes on to say, "Maybe it’s because I have a small scar from a C-section about 14 months ago or maybe it’s because I haven’t had sex in a year. And no, I’m not Vajazzling to find a boyfriend, although I do appreciate all the tweets I’ve gotten today asking me for drinks, naked bowling, the opera, and a “sensual pilates date.”

"Well, after only a 2-step process involving some pretty high-tech wax, and then some pretty fabulous Swarovski crystals... Jill(thee applier) assured me that they’re pretty strong, and that Completely Bare guarantees their Vajazzles for 5 days. When Jill reminded me not to engage in any “vigorous activity for at least the first day” I couldn’t help but laugh to myself… vigorous activity? I should be so lucky.

"I left the spa feeling like a new woman. I had a little spring in my step and couldn’t help but think that I would actually do this on a semi-regular basis if I had a man in my life. Why not? Until then, I can keep the solo party going around my disco ball of a crotch. I don’t think I’ll be bringing a photographer and film crew next time though, that was just plain bizarre." All posts by Bryce

Now the better question is, would I Jazz it up if I were a girl(insert Beyonce note here), In my opinion, it's thee only civilized way to present rhinestones on one's body. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a Ed Hardy t-shirt, i'm just saying...
